Description:
perennial climbing plant, the
family
of the Convolvuláceas, who shoots up to 2. 5 meters long. Its leaves are ACORAZONADO, and the flowers, large and pure white. Very similar to
correhuela
lower.

Properties and indications:
in all parts of the plant, and especially in the root, and there

glucósido resinous tannin (the convolvulina) similar in chemical composition and its properties which is obtained from the root of
Jalapa
. It
has
laxative properties, and also colagogas colerética. As
a
laxative, serving strongly,

without causing irritation and vomiting. Indicated in acute constipation. Can be administered to

. As colagoga, facilitate the evacuation of bile, and is indicated in cases of
liver
inflammation or congestion, and disruption of the emptying of the gallbladder.
Usage:
infusion with
a
spoonful of shredded leaves or root for every cup of water can take up to 3 cups
a
day, sweetened with honey. Powder: The usual dose is 1 to 3 grams daily divided into 3 shots.
