The leaves.

Active Principles.

Saponósidos, bitter principles, essential oil, allantoin, organic acids: caféico, chlorogenic, rosmarínico, malic, oxalic, citric, tannins.

Drug Action.

The saponosides give it an antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, Vasoprotectives and expectorant. The tannins are responsible for their actions astringent (antidiarrheal, local hemostatic, healing)

Indications.

Popularly used for the treatment of chronic bronchitis, flatulence and for cutting internal bleeding. By outsourcing can be useful for the treatment of oral thrush, wounds, skin ulcers and eczema.

In the Aragonese Pyrenees used the infusion of leaves and roots, in the form of gargarismos to combat stomatitis, pharyngitis and parodontopatías. Topically in the form of towels soaked with the decoction, to alleviate the discomfort caused by hemorrhoids (Villar, 1992)

Galenica forms / Dosage.

Infusion: One tablespoon per cup dessert. 3 cups a day.

Dust: 1 - 2 teaspoons of coffee a day.

Fluid Extract: 15 - 25 drops, one to three times a day.

Tincture (1: 10) 30 - 50 drops, one to three times a day.
