Cimarron cane, Cost of Arabia.

One grows in central and south American continent. It is not a common variety of cane, because it belongs to another botanical family, that of Zingiberáceas. It reaches up to a meter in height. Its leaves are slightly oval, large, 10 to 30 cms. in length. Among the leaves grow above a white flower, orange or yellow. It was traditionally used in folk medicine in Latin America.

Properties and indications:

Diuretic: in addition to increasing the production of urine and disposal of waste substances, develops an interesting anti - inflammatory action on the urinary organs. It is recommended to use in case of nephritis, urinary calculi and inflammation of the bladder (cystitis)

Emenagoga: increases when menstruation is scarce. It is soothing for menstrual pains (dysmenorrhoea)

Usage: used in decoction, which is prepared with the stems, the stem or leaves, crushed (50 grams of plant per liter of water) Boil for 16 minutes, and take 2 to 4 cups a day. Sweetened with honey.
