Active Principles.

Heterósidos cardiac (cardenólidos) among which the convalatoxina and validates or 3 - Ramnäs of estrofantina; saponosides: convalarina; heterósidos flavones.

Drug Action.

The heterósidos determine a cardiac much faster, but more fleeting that the digital divide. Furthermore, it increases urine output by improving circulation to kidney level. The flavonoid enhance the action and cardiac diuretic. The convalarina has a purgative action.

Indications.

Was used in the treatment of liver failure, kidney and heart of urolithiasis and hyperuricemia.

Contraindications.

Treatment with other cardiac (may boost its share)

Caution / Poisoning.

The presence of heterósidos cardenólidos very active, he recommended its use as cardiotonic only under medical supervision and specialized in the form of standardized extracts.

The convalarina also has a hemolytic activity in vitro.
