The fruits, leaves and eventually the root.

Active Principles.

Fruits: anthocyanins, carbohydrates, organic acids, asparagine.

Drug Action.

Fruits: Laxative soft, protective capilarotropo.

Leaves: hypoglycemic agents, antidiarrheal, healing.

Crust: Anti - inflammatory, analgesic.

Indications.

Fruits: constipation, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, phlebitis, capillary fragility.

Leaves: hyperglycemia, diarrhea, wounds, skin ulcerations.

Crust: odontalgia, pharyngitis, stomatitis.

Contraindications.

Gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcus (see precautions)

Do not prescribe dosage forms with alcoholic content for oral administration in children under two years or consultants in the process of alcohol addiction.

Side Effects.

The infusion of decoction of the leaves or roots, for its tannin content, can be irritating to the digestive mucous membranes.

Caution / Poisoning.

Take into account the alcohol content of the fluid extract and tincture.

Galenica forms / Dosage.

Internal use:

Fruits: juice, food use.

Infusion (leaves) one tablespoon per cup of dessert. Infuse 10 minutes. Three cups a day before meals.

Fluid extract of leaves (1: 1) 30 to 50 drops before meals.

Tincture (1: 5) 50 - 100 drops, one to three times a day.

External use:

Infusion (leaves) 30 to 50 g / l, applied in the form of mouthwashes or gargarismos.

Decoction (root) 30 to 50 g / l, boil 10 minutes. Apply in the form of mouthwashes or gargarismos.
