Active Principles.

Drug Action.

The monotropitósido (gaulterina) is hydrolyzed by the bacteria, resulting in methyl salicylate, an anti - inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic, anticoagulant; The arbutósido has a urinary antiseptic. The essential oils in topical use, has a rubefaciente. The tannins give it an astringent (antidiarrheal local hemostatic, healing)

Indications.

Rheumatism, neuralgia, influenza - like illnesses, colds, prevention of thromboembolism, cystitis, urethritis, ureteritis, pyelonephritis, diarrhea, wounds.

Contraindications.

Gastric ulcers, treatment with anticoagulants or hemostats.
