Active Principles.

Essential oil, saponosides, heterósidos flavonoids, tannins, traces of alkaloids (mercurialina) potassium salts.

Drug Action.

Weak - strong purgative, emetic, diuretic, colagogo, anthelmintic.

Indications.

Not currently used. Was used primarily as a "cleansing", for its loose - laxative effect and gently diuretic.

Contraindications.

Pregnancy, infancy, children (by the presence of alkaloids) cystitis, hemorrhoids, menstruation, gastrointestinal inflammatory statements.

Side Effects.

Has described the emergence of hematuria after eating (indeed perhaps because the pigments eliminated via urine, blood and no losses)

Caution / Poisoning.

Not suitable for the treatment of constipation usually recommend using mechanical or osmotic laxatives, with more physiological mechanism of action and mild.

Due to the virulence of its effect is not advisable to use.

Galenica forms / Dosage.

Infusion: 1 teaspoon per cup of coffee. Infuse 10 minutes. A cup before bedtime.
