Spanish: Coclearia.

English: Scurvy grass; SCORBUT grass.

French: Cochléaire; Herbe à la Cuillère; Herbe au SCORBUT.

Of the family of cruciferous.

Increases the activity of the kidneys and therefore urination. Tackle uric acid (gout) Purifying the blood. Useful against bronchitis.

Active Principles.

Heterósidos sulphurised: glucoputranjivano, glucococlearósido that hydrolysis releases isothiocyanate butyl. Vitamin C.

Drug Action.

Plant poorly studied. It is used as an anti - inflammatory and eupéptico, vitamin. In topically applied has an effect rubefaciente and analgesic.

Indications.

Asthenia, convalescence, dyspepsia hiposecretotas. In external use: osteo inflammation, myalgia, stomatitis, pharyngitis.

Contraindications.

Gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer, hypothyroidism (see precautions)

Do not prescribe dosage forms with alcohol content to children under two years or consultants in the process of alcohol addiction.

Caution / Poisoning.

It is often confused with the Herniaria glabra (hernia or rompepiedras)

Many glucosinolates of the family of brasicáceas presented an action antithyroid, inducing goitre.

The butyl isothiocyanate can be irritating to the gastric mucosa.

Take into account the alcohol content of the fluid extract and tincture.

Galenica forms / Dosage.

Internal use:

Infusion: one tablespoon per cup of dessert. Infuse 10 minutes. Two or three cups a day before meals.

Fluid extract (1: 1) 30 - 50 drops, one to three times a day.

Tincture (1: 10) 50 - 100 drops, one to three times a day.

Juice of fresh plant: 50 to 100 grams a day.

External use:

Infusion, tincture or extract fluid diluted to 10%: Apply in the form of lotions, mouthwashes or gargarismos.
