Whole plant organs without hosts.

Active Principles.

Heterósidos bitter: cuscutina, tannins, resin - rich compounds Anthraquinone.

Drug Action.

Colagogo, Carmine, loose - laxative, slightly sedative.

Indications.

Hepatobiliary dyskinesia, flatulence, constipation.

Contraindications.

Pregnancy, menstruation, cystitis, hemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome, prostate adenoma, due to the presence of derivatives Anthraquinone.

Heterósidos cardiac treatment: the depletion of potassium may enhance its effect.

Side Effects.

Gastroenteritis, with vomiting and diarrhea.

Caution / Poisoning.

The laxative effect of the Cuscuta can become very intense.

Not suitable for the treatment of constipation usual. Prescribing treatments in the form of short and discontinuous. Do not exceed the dose indicated.

Galenica forms / Dosage.

Infusion: one teaspoon per cup of coffee, infuse 10 minutes. Two or three cups a day before meals.

Fluid extract (1: 1) 200 to 400 mg per day, in pills or capsules of 100 mg, taken before meals.
