Used Part.
The leaves and the
essential
oil obtained by distillation, gomenolado (grinding and devoid of aldehydes, which have irritating action)
Active Principles.
Essential
oil (1%) rich in eucalyptol (50 - 65%) terpenes:
d
- pinene, l - limonene, terpineol, aldehydes,
sulfur
compounds.
Drug Action.
Antiseptic, with
specific
tropism on the airways, expectorant, anthelmintic. In topical use: pain, healing.
Indications.
Flu
, colds,
bronchitis
,
asthma
,
rhinitis
,
sinusitis
,
pharyngitis
, laryngitis, ear
infections
, enterocolitis,
cystitis
,
urethritis
, rheumatism, osteo inflammation, skin sores, wounds, neuralgia,
herpes zoster
, burns.
Contraindications.
Unless otherwise indicated, we recommend not to prescribe
essential
oils through internal during
pregnancy
, lactation,
children
under six years or patients with
gastritis
, gastric ulcers,
irritable bowel syndrome
,
ulcerative colitis
, Crohn's
disease
, hepatopathy,
epilepsy
,
Parkinson
and other neurological
diseases
.
Do not administer, or topically applied to
children
under six years old or people with
respiratory
allergies
or with known hypersensitivity to this or other
essential
oils.
Side Effects.
The
essential
oil can be nerve and produce, especially in
children
,
allergic
reactions (bronchospasm) By practicing preventive recommend
a
litmus test prior to the implementation of inhalations with
essential
oils: inhale for 15 seconds and wait 30 minutes.
Caution / Poisoning.
The
essential
oil can be irritating to skin and mucous membranes, so it is advisable to use the essence gomenolada.
Galenica forms / Dosage.
Internal use:
Essential
oil gomenolado:
Two or three drops, 1 - 3 times
a
day,
a
cup of infusion, on
a
sugar cube or oily solution or an
alcoholic
.
Capsules (25 to 50 mg / CAPS) two to six
a
day.
Suppositories (0. 1 to 0. 4 g / sup. One to three
a
day.
Wet inhalations (5 to 10 drops in half
a
liter
of warm water)
Aerosol
(1. 2 g prepared
esencia
/ 50 ml)
External use:
Essential
oil gomenolado oily solution in the 5 - 10%, applied topically in burns, ulcers, skin irritations.
