Active Principles.

Flavonoids, among which the sideritidoflavona; triterpenic steroids, essential oil (0. 3%) abundant tannins Catechists, saponosides, triterpenes, lactones.

Drug Action.

The plants of the genus Sideritis are widely used in the Mediterranean basin, as potent anti - inflammatory, spasmolytic, digestive, antiulcer, healing, reepitelizante, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal and as a diuretic.

Indications.

Gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer, gastrointestinal spasms, enterocolitis, irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia hiposecretoras, meteorism. Cystitis, urolithiasis, benign prostate adenoma. Flu, colds, pharyngitis, laryngitis, bronchitis.

Outside: conjunctivitis, blepharitis, stomatitis, pharyngitis, otitis, sinusitis, vulvovaginitis, wounds, bruises, burns, eczema, dermatomycosis, osteo inflammations.

Contraindications.

Do not prescribe the essential oil through internal during pregnancy, lactation, to young children or people with gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome or neurological disorders.

Do not prescribe oral dosage forms with alcohol content to children under two years or consultants in the process of alcohol addiction.

Caution / Poisoning.

Take into account the alcohol content of the fluid extract and tincture.

Galenica forms / Dosage.

Internal use:

Infusion: one tablespoon per cup soup, infuse 10 minutes. Take three cups a day.

Fluid extract (1: 1) 30 - 50 drops, one to three times a day.

Tincture (1: 10) 50 to 100 drops, one to three times a day.

External use:

Infusion: Isotonizar and implement in the form of lotions, compresses, Enemas, instillations, eye drops and eye baths.
