Active Principles.

Plant poorly studied. Has described the presence of abundant tannins gálicos and catechists (5 - 10%) flavonoids (Querceta, quercitrósido, miricetrósido) leucoantocianósidos, histidine, hill, it is assumed that there are components of unknown structure with spasmolytic action.

Drug Action.

Due to its abundance in tannins presents an activity: astringent (antidiarrheal, healing and hemostasis) In addition it is considered spasmolytic, antipyretic, digestive and diuretic.

Indications.

Diarrhea, gastrointestinal spasms, dysmenorrhea, functional uterine bleeding. States that require an increase in urine output: genitourinary disorders (cystitis, ureteritis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, oliguria, urolithiasis) hiperazotemia, hyperuricemia, gout, high blood pressure, edema, overweight accompanied by fluid retention.

In external use: stomatitis, glossitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, vulvovaginitis.

Contraindications.

No alcoholic extracts prescribed to children under two years or consultants in the process of alcohol addiction.

Caution / Poisoning.

Take into account the alcohol content of the extract fluid and dyeing, dyeing.

Galenica forms / Dosage.

Internal use:

Infusion: 30 g / l, infuse 10 minutes. Three cups a day, after meals. Often associated with chamomile and valerian, in equal parts.

Fluid extract (1: 1) 15 - 30 drops, one to three times a day.

Tincture (1: 10) 30 - 50 drops, two or three times a day.

Juice: one to three tablespoons a day.

External use:

Decoction: 60 g / l, boil 15 minutes. Apply in the form of mouthwashes gargarismos, washed or vaginal irrigations.
