Active Principles.
Derivatives triterpenic:
asiaticoside,
FLASH
. Abundant tannins (20 - 25%)
essential
oil. Phytosterols. Mucilages.
* RFE:
The dry drug must contain at least 2% asiaticoside.
Drug Action.
The asiaticoside stimulates the activation fibroblastic, which
has
an effect reepitelizante, action reinforced by the effect of astringent tannins. It is also antiseptic, and antipruritic.
Through domestic action presents
a
general tonic, antidepressant and venotónica.
Indications.
In topical use:
wounds, skin ulcers, eczema, intertrigo,
erythema
, stretch marks, burns,
psoriasis
, cervicitis, vulvovaginitis, to the mucose vulvovaginal
dystrophy
, skin sores, mouth or
corneal
,
blepharitis
,
conjunctivitis
,
keratitis
, parodontopatías,
pharyngitis
,
dermatitis
,
Erythema
, pruritus.
Oral:
Venous insufficiency,
a
nervous
breakdown.
Contraindications.
Do not prescribe dosage forms with
alcoholic
content for oral administration in
children
under two years or consultants in the process of
alcohol
addiction
.
Gastritis
, gastroduodenal ulcer: tannins can irritate the gastric mucosa, this side effect can be offset by associating with drug mucilages, as the
marshmallow
.
Caution / Poisoning.
Take into account the
alcohol
content of the fluid extract and tincture.
Galenica forms / Dosage.
Topical use:
Poultice of fresh plant, applied over the area to treat.
Dust:
Apply 2 times
a
day, on the area to be treated.
Fluid extract, glycolic or tincture, in the form of eye drops or eye bath (isotonizar) ointment, fat tulle,
vaginal
sprays or ova.

Infusion:
One teaspoon per cup of
coffee
. Three cups
a
day.
Fluid extract (1:
1) 10 - 30 drops three times daily.
Tincture (1:
10) 50 drops three times daily.
Dry extract (5:
1) 100 mg, one to three times
a
day.
