Active Principles.
Essential
oil (4 - 6%) rich in
alcohol
terpénicos (90 - 97%) alpha - and beta - santalol, fusanol; acids and Santal teresantálico.
Drug Action.
Antiseptic with special tropism in
urinary
tract and lung,
central
nervous
system
stimulant. Diuretic, venotónico, astringent. Are attributed aphrodisiac properties.
Indications.
States that require an increase in urine output:
urinary
disorders
(
cystitis
, ureteritis,
urethritis
, oliguria, urolithiasis) hiperazotemia, hyperuricemia, gout, high blood pressure, edema,
overweight
accompanied by fluid retention.
Pharyngitis

bronchitis
,
emphysema
,
asthma
.
Gastroenteritis
, enterocolitis. Varicose veins, haemorrhoids. In topical use: wounds,
pharyngitis
, parodontopatías.
Contraindications.
Unless otherwise indicated, we recommend not to prescribe

pregnancy

children
under six years or patients with
gastritis
, gastric ulcers,
irritable bowel syndrome

ulcerative colitis

, hepatopathy,
epilepsy

Parkinson
and other neurological
diseases
.
Do not administer, or topically applied to

under six years old or people with
respiratory
allergies
or with known hypersensitivity to this or other
essential
oils.
Caution / Poisoning.
In high doses can cause
heartburn
, intense thirst, nausea and
allergic
reactions (bronchospasm)
